Following is the text from the plaque on the Wall of Honor at HHS. Current and future Salthawks pass by the Wall of Honor each day where they may be inspired by the accomplishments of some of our outstanding alumni.
Martin Grimes Colladay '43
Air Force Lieutenant General, Con Agra, Inc.
Dedicated teachers, a fine education and lifelong friendships formed at HHS helped prepare Martin Grimes Colladay for a career of national prominence in the United States military service.
A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Colladay became a bomber pilot, commander and staff officer of the Strategic Air Command. He served in Korea as Chief of Operations on the Joint Staff and as Vice Director of the Joint Staff at the Pentagon. As Lieutenant General, he became Deputy Chairman of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Military decorations include two Distinguished Service medals and the Legion of Merit.
After retiring from the Air Froce, Lt. Gen. Colladay joined Con Agra, Inc. of Omaha, NE as Vice President for Governmental Affairs. Dedication to his community is evident in his volunteer service on the Board of Trustees of the Strategic Air Command Museum in Omaha.
Commitment to duty by serving his country provides Lt. Gen. Martin Grimes Colladay a prominent position on the Wall of Honor.
